Please join AIA New Orleans, Global Green and USGBC for a panel discussion on sustainable residences titled, "LEED for Homes - Sustainable Standards for Residential Green Building in our Region."

Saturday, September 27 - Canstruction Gala and Benefit


Please join AIA New Orleans in celebrating Canstruction 10th year by attending our gala whose theme is the 'Power of 10'. Over the last nine years Canstruction has donated over a half-million pounds of food to our local community and provided more than 390,600 meals to individuals and families living with food insecurity. This innovative charitable event brings together multi-disciplinary teams drawn from the design, construction, and business communities to create and build extraordinary structures entirely of canned foods and other non-perishables.

All of the canned goods from the Canstruction structures are donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana after the event and disseminated to agencies serving people in need. All proceeds from the Gala Awards Ceremony will benefit the Architect Pairing Program, an outreach effort by AIA New Orleans...

AIA New Orleans is pleased to offer AIA members an opportunity to learn about Concrete Masonry Walls for Mold and Moisture Prevention, presented by Howard Arceneaux of Trenwyth Industries.

This presentation will explore the causes of moisture and mold problems, how materials, construction practices and design details can relate to mold growth, the public health and legal implications, and materials and design solutions for healthy buildings. Monday, September 29 - LEED Five-Evening Session

AIA New Orleans and USGBC announce a series of LEED Workshops and study sessions designed to help you better under the process, importance, benefits, and principles of LEED, as well as help prepare you for the LEED exam. This third session in the series will focus on a more in-depth review of LEED, including a chapter by chapter review intended for those interested in becoming certified.

This third offering in the LEED series is a week-long, five-evening session beginning Monday, September 29, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at Tulane University School of Architecture. At this session, intended for anyone in and outside the design field, one will gain the necessary tools and understanding to become part of the growing LEED building market...
