Fashion Tip of The Week

Section: Fashion

Joshua Pinkay

Ok, so for the week of May 29 - June 2, 2007, forecasts seem to be gloomy and gray. I had a sit in with independent fashion consultant, Zoe Jones, for some tips on how to maintain a chic look while enduring some rainy weather.

Zoe: - Tip 1 "During rainy weather, ladies should consider maintaining their natural curls and waves only as to avoid over working their daily hair maintenance each day. With the extra humidity in the air, it's more likely for your hair to frizz up easier, and I don't know about you, but I'd be upset if I spent thirty minutes to an hour straightening my hair, only to have it curl back out once I step out the door."

Tip 2 "If you have relaxed hair and want to maintain that look, than I suggest working in some ponytails with your outfit; moreover, if the outfit allows it, try wearing some fashionable caps to give yourself a unique look and maintaining your hair in that sleek condition that you want it."

Tip 3 "I would recommend wearing closed-ended shoes as to avoid getting dirty water in between your toes and nails. It would be horrible to walk into a room and let people notice filthy feet or toe nails caused by the weather. Believe it or not, the rain can do this, so don't take the lazy fashion approach by wearing flip-flops all day. Put forth a little extra to wear the appropriate shoe to compliment your outfit."

Tip 4 "Lastly, I would say to stick to your natural fiber clothing, which would mostly include all of your cottons. Reason for this being that, your natural fibered clothes don't have the problem of water stains. Wearing your articles of clothing made with more expensive materials may run the risk of possible water damage due to the rain. So choose wisely what pieces you feel would fit best to your day."
