The "Sweet Kiss" of a Model

Section: Fashion

Joshua Pinkay

Last week, I interviewed Erinn Brown, CEO/Agent of Sweet Kiss Modeling. I was interested in the venture that Brown started here in New Orleans. The fact that she’s such a young entrepreneur and still pursuing even more success with a modeling career was quite impressive. So, I took the time to learn a little bit more about her and the company that she created.

What is Sweet Kiss Modeling all about?

Well, the best way for me to describe it would be to give you the Sweet Kiss mission statement, and that is:
Promoting to accelerate exposure to the entertainment
industry. Being able to use male and female models in
front of agents, entertainers, and other professional
Institutions, offers individuals the opportunity to
gain the most exposure as possible for the product
and the model.

Ok great. So tell me, what inspired you to start Sweet Kiss Modeling?

After Hurricane Katrina, I was working with a modeling agency out in ATL. I eventually made the decision to come back home to N.O. for school, but I didn’t want to venture away from the modeling career I started for myself in ATL. So, I was inspired enough to start my own company so that I can elevate my view into fashion and modeling at my own perspective.

Was it a rough start?

No, actually, it wasn’t. It was quite amazing to me how everything was coming together. The rapid success was more inspiration for me to continure striving for more. I believe that if you’re truly passionate about something, then everything you need for it to work out will fall into place at the right time. I have no regrets or complaints.

That's quite impressive. So how many people are involved with Sweet Kiss Modeling?

Well, including myself, there are 6 officers. Erinique Santiago, who is actually the co-founder for the agency, is also the president for the company; Danielle Felix is the vice-president; there are two managers, Alicia Armstrong & Patrick Hill; and we have one stylist, Veronica. There are currently 27 models under contract, and only two of them are males.

Well it seems as if you have a pretty good team behind you. Tell me, what makes a true Sweet Kiss Model?

Sweet Kiss models must have drive, ambition, and charisma. Personal appearance is not a huge factor in this agency. I need you to be beautiful on the inside, before you can be beautiful on the outside.

That's a good thing to know. Where do you see Sweet Kiss Modeling in 5 years?

I believe that at that point, I’ll have expanded my business large enough to be able to branch out to different cities like Houston, Miami, New York, and Atlanta. I have all the confidence in the world that this agency can achieve that. Determination is key, but motivation is important.

Sounds like you’re pretty determined to get far. Is there anything else you’d like to point out?

Yes. If anybody is interested in being a Sweet Kiss model, male or female, they may email us at sweetkissmodeling@yahoo.com with a resume, a head shot, and body shot. You can also check out our myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/4andahalfclothing
