As the time for First Fridays: "Fashion Fest" draws closer and closer, our models will gain opportunities to be interviewed and let the NewOrleansBlack.com audience get to know them a little better before the show. Third is Jerome.

How long have you been modeling?
This is my second fashion show altogether. My first fashion show was also with NewOrleansBlack.com back in January's First Fridays.

Have you ever wanted to model while growing up?
Yes. I have a rather fond interest in the fashion industry. I kinda want to make it a hobby of mine.

So, how did you get involved with the First Fridays: Fashion Fest show?
I read about the audition in an event posting on the internet. After seeing that, I was immediately inclined to try out again for a second show with NewOrleansBlack.com, and gladly enough, I pulled through a second time.

How do you feel about your modeling now?
My initial interest in it has definately increased. I'm really starting to grow a passion for it.

What are some current stats on Jerome?
Age: 19
From: New Orleans East
High school: Brother Martin
College/Univ: Xavier University
Major: Chemistry/ Pre-Pharmacy
Current title: student, retail associate, & canvassing model

What are your aspirations for the future?
I want to become a pharmacist one day. Hopefully I'll be working for a major drug corporation or I'll be doing pharmaceutical research and sales in New York.

Do you have any aspirations in the entertainment industry?
Oh yes, of course. I want to eventally be signed to a major modeling agency. I see myself doing some print work for magazines and traveling with my career.

Tell the world one quote that you live by and why you chose that quote.
"Make the street your runway." - Eva Pigford said this to the group of models I was working with in the first fashion show I did. I kinda took that quote with me as a reminder to myself to always maintain a good appearance. People often judge immediately on looks alone, even though they shouldn't, people still do it.

Always.
