Free flu shots on Thursday

he Department of Health and Hospitals will administer free flu shots on Thursday at the recreation and fitness center on the University of New Orleans campus at 2000 Lakeshore Drive. The shots will be given from 2 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Anyone age six months or older can receive the free immunization.
The state is providing the flu shots with a federal grant designed to prepare health care providers for an emergency in which many vaccines had to be administered in a short period of time. Health workers will provide up to 200 vaccines per hour on Thursday.
