Free health fairs offered

The city health department and two other sponsors will offer health screenings Friday where residents can check their height and weight, body mass index, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Another health screening will take place Wednesday.
Both events run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and are free for the first 400 people.
The Friday screening will be at the J.W. Marriott Hotel at 614 Canal St. Wednesday's screening will be at the New Orleans Convention Center Marriott at 859 Convention Center Blvd.
The health fairs are sponsored by the city health department, Pfizer and Louisiana 2 Step, a program created by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and the Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
