Lawsuit Dropped Wow!!!

Section: Politics

Samuel D. Davenport

In a ruling brought down by the U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval wrote that the corps receives immunity according to the Control Act of 1928. Wednesday the federal judge ruled that the Army Corps of Engineers under federal law is immune from responsibility for damages resulting from Hurricane Katrina drainage canal walls. Attorneys for the plaintiffs’ said the corps should be held accountable and plans to file an appeal. This action shields almost 500,000 New Orleans businesses, homeowners and city agencies from collecting on claims totaling more than $3 quadrillion. I guess the government shouldn’t be held accountable for the wrong that it does to its citizens. I wish it was like that for the rest of us, but unfortunately if we commit a crime don’t think you going to get immunity you and I are going to jail.
