Most of Dist. B has power.

Section: Politics

Stacy Head, Councilwoman, District B

Friends,

Lots of progress has been made since yesterday. Most of Dist. B has power. The remaining outages are due to small distribution line damage. If you notice a line down, please call 1-800-9OUTAGE. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you or a neighbor has a line down to an individual house, please contact Entergy (or even email me) as that down line could be impacting the whole area.

Normal sanitation services resumed today. Please place your garbage out as normal. As to debris, please put it curb-side (NOT neutral ground) as there are debris crews working now as well. If you have any odd debris issues, notice any non-emergency dangerous situations, or need trees cut, call 311 (good luck?! I think it is working).

Sewer and water systems are functioning normally.

Many stores and restaurants have been reopened. Additionally, most hotels are getting back to normal. If you have friends outside New Orleans who are not comfortable, this is the place to be!

Archdiocese schools and NOPS will reopen on Monday. Most ISAS schools are following that plan. City Hall will reopen on Monday.

There will be an Information Center at 2020 Jackson with information of FEMA reimbursements for hotel stays and other critical information. It should be open by Monday.

***Please help your neighbors. As you clean your yards and streets, take the time to help your neighbors do the same, particularly older people or people without equipment.

WELCOME HOME
