New Orleans Filmmaker's Outdoor Screening
Section: Talent

This past weekend, a couple of interns and myself had the opportunity to check out the New Orleans Filmmaker's Screening over at the Mardi Gras Outdoor Cinema in the Marigny area. We were quite impressed with the creative environment that the Mardi Gras Outdoor Cinema had to offer.
The screening included films from local filmmakers specializing in Horror, Documentary, Anime, Suspense, and Rock&Roll genres. There were also a few film students from Baton Rouge who rode out to showcase their work.
Film Entries are always welcome at the Mardi Gras Cinema. Kacey, the screening coordinator, holds weekly screenings every Friday and Saturday over at the cinema. They provide free popcorn and sell sodas for $1.00, but there's also a cafe' across the street or you can purchase snacks at the Mardi Gras Market next door.
The New Orleans Mardi Gras Outdoor Cinema is located at 2709 Chartres St. (In the Marigny, near Mimi's). You can email any questions about screenings at
